Have you seen the glitter vase filler at the Dollar Tree? I’ve used it to make “bead” garlands and as reindeer and gnome noses! This time, I’m using them to make a Christmas tree ornament using a wood slice!
Supplies Needed for This DIY
- Wood slice
- Glitter vase filler
- Twine
- Hot glue gun
- Twig
- Star or snowflake embellishment
- Drill (optional)

We had some leftover pieces of wood from a firewood run that we ended up cutting into wood slices for crafting! This one cracked after it dried out, so I used it to make this cute Christmas tree ornament!

First thing I did was line up the green glitter vase filler in a triangular shape to create a tree shape. I used hot glue to attach them.

Then I used a twig from our yard to be used as the trunk of the tree! So easy!

Next, I added smaller pieces of the vase filler to mimic ornaments for the tree. How sweet!

This was a diy from about two years ago before my hubby gifted me with my own drill, so I just glued a twine hanger onto the back of the wood slice. You can drill a hole and hang it that way instead. If you choose the glue, make sure to cover the back with felt to cover your glue.

Last, I added a twine bow and a gold ball as the tree topper. I also added a snowflake! I just love how cute and simple this is! I hope you do, too!
