Do you have an old t-shirt that you just can’t part with but can’t use because it’s either too small or too big? Maybe it’s a late loved ones shirt that you want to treasure. Or maybe you have old baseball t-shirts from when your kids were littles. Whatever the case, turn that t-shirt into a fun, useful item! Make a soft and cozy t-shirt throw pillow!

Step One
The first thing you need to do is iron your shirt to ensure an even cut. This is the shirt that I used. A friend wanted to make a throw pillow from this shirt that she had purchased for her mother-in-law, but it was too small.
Step Two
Next you need to cut some parchment paper, large enough to border your image. Once you have your paper cut and centered, you will pin it onto the t-shirt.
Step Three
Moving along, you will use a rotary cutter to ensure an even cut, around the paper template. You can always use fabric scissors, but since it is a square cut, and it’s t-shirt material, a rotary cutter is recommended. If you don’t have one, Amazon has them cheap!
Step Four
Now, you are going to remove your pins and flip your two squares of cut pieces of t-shirt fabric to face right sides together. Then, pin them back together, to get ready for the sewing machine. After threading your machine, sew three sides together, leaving one side open for stuffing.
Step Five
When you’ve sewn three sides, turn the fabric inside out and iron it. Next, you need to stuff it with the fiber fill. Afterwards, you will sew your fourth side together, folding in your edge to make it as clean as possible.
Your t-shirt throw pillow is complete!
