If I could have Christmas trees in every room of the house, I would.. and I almost do. Downstairs anyway. We have our neutral tree in our living room, a smaller accent tree (currently undecorated) in our dining room, and another undecorated tree in our school library room. So, it was only right to add one to the kitchen, right? Let me show you our red truck inspired skinny Christmas tree!
Do You Like Themed Christmas Trees?
Well, I love themed trees! This one is our red truck themed tree. We’ve had different red truck trees in the past, but I never decorate our trees the same way every year. I’ll provide as many details about this tree as I can! I hope you enjoy!
That Topper though!!
First of all, that topper is a wooden outdoor stake from the Dollar General. If I can get away with it, I try to get a lot of my ornaments from the dollar stores. When you have multiple trees, you can imagine how expensive it can get. I also like to make my own ornaments when I can! I am a DIYer after all!

Picks. Picks take a topper from “How Pretty” to WOW! Pretty!”
Most of these picks came from Hobby Lobby. I do not pay full price ever if I can help it. If you can hold off on buying your Christmas decor, Hobby Lobby will eventually put their Christmas stuff half off. I personally like to grab stuff at the end of the season for the next year when it’s deeply discounted.
Let’s talk about the ornaments!
The red truck star was a quick DIY that I made using a wooden Dollar Tree star and red truck wrapping paper! There is also a metal red truck pick that came from Dollar General. Those big bells came from Walmart, I’m pretty sure.

A fun thing to use as ornaments on a tree are the small boxes they sell at the Dollar General. Open the box, set it in the tree where you want it. Fold a couple of branches over two of the edges, then replace the lid to secure the box on the tree! Instant ornament!

The big star is also from Dollar General, the red plaid ribbon and the red glitter swirl pick is from Walmart, and the glass pine cones were a thrift store find! I like to stick picks all over the tree, because you know you always have those empty spaces where no ornament will fit. Stick a pick in it! Lol

So, I had a tiny bit of the ribbon left over after adding it to the tree. I folded a few pieces into bows and layered a burlap bow on top and stuck that in the tree! That fun wooden truck was from the Dollar General, I’m pretty sure. Isn’t it cute?!

Something wonderful about being live on social media, is that I have met some precious people. One being my friend, Ms Cheryl. She sent me some handmade ornaments last year, and once again blessed me with more handmade gifts this year. How sweet is this red truck ornament?! She decoupaged a napkin onto a metal sign and added a beaded hanger! So adorable! <3

More Christmas Truck Ideas:
Something else I like to do to fill in gaps on a tree is to use the jumbo ornaments from the Dollar Tree. I don’t hang them, I just stuff them in the tree where I see a gap. Easy peasy! We’ve got more jumbo wooden signs, glitter swirl picks, stars, and random ornaments.

This tree is in our kitchen, and I have yet to decide on a tree stand/skirt. If I had thought about it beforehand, I would have added it to a box, but I got excited and started decorating it. Lol The Christmas spirit got me! What can I say? 😉

I hope this helps inspire you to add more Christmas decor to otherwise bare rooms during the holidays. Who wouldn’t love walking into the kitchen and it being illuminated by just the glow of a beautifully lit Christmas tree?! I know I enjoy that very much.
