Make your own patriotic table runner using burlap, red, white, and blue fabric and ribbon. It’s quick and easy to whip up for your patriotic get togethers!

Supplies needed to make your own patriotic table runner :

  • Burlap fabric
  • Red, white, and blue fabric for stars
  • Red, white, and blue ribbon
  • A star template
  • Scissors and pinking shears (optional) – The ones I’m using are linked here.
  • Glue gun or fabric glue
  • A marking tool for tracing

burlap used for a patriotic table runner

Start off by cutting two pieces of burlap fabric. The reason for two is because one layer is pretty thin and see through.

Glue the two layers together using either fabric glue or hot glue. I just glued around the edges.

After your burlap layers are glued together, use a star of your choice to trace a star shape out of red, white, and blue fabrics. I used a wooden star that I got at Dollar Tree. You could use a star printed from the web and just print it on cardstock so it will be a sturdy template for tracing.

I used pinking shears to cut the stars out for a little added detail.

These are the three fabrics that I used.

Hot glue was what I used to attach the fabric stars to the burlap.

This is What I Have So Far!

It needed something else, so I added some ribbon along the short edge.

I started with this blue jean ribbon that I recently got at Hobby Lobby on clearance! Next, I added the red burlap ribbon from the Dollar Tree. I did cut the width of the red ribbon in half to vary the widths of my three ribbons.

Last, I added this adorable white fringe ribbon, that also came from Hobby Lobby clearance, to the very edge to finish it off! Isn’t it fabulous?!
