Supplies needed for this project :

  • 1 paper rosette (premade or hand-folded)
  • Patriotic themed scrapbook paper
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Printable USA tag or decorative center
  • Wooden spool
  • Gingham ribbon
  • Small button and mini star embellishment
  • Wooden dowel or skewer
  • Hot glue gun
  • Optional Supplies : Paper punches, paper scorer, bone tool

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare or Make the Rosette

You can either make your own paper rosette or use a premade one. If you’d like to make your own, here are the instructions. Cut four 6×6″ pieces of scrapbook paper, and fold them all accordion style.

Fold each one in half and glue them together so they make a triangular shape like shown.

After all four of them are folded and glued in half, using hot glue, attach all four pieces together, to make one large circle rosette.

2. Decorate the Center

Using punches, create circles out of coordinating scrapbook paper and corrugated cardboard, and glue them onto the center of the rosette. Layer embellishments like the blue gingham bow, a wooden button or star to give it that dimensional charm.

3. Attach the Stem

Hot glue a wooden dowel or skewer to the back of the rosette.

4. Finish the Base

Add glue around the base of the dowel and insert it into the wooden spool. Wrap the wooden spool in ribbon or a printable label. Secure with hot glue and tie a gingham bow for a farmhouse-style finish.

5. Style & Display

Place it in a floral arrangement, tuck it into a tiered tray, or let it stand alone as a cheerful summer accent!
