How fun are these jumbo wooden beads?! I love wood beads anyway, so when I found these huge ones, I just had to have them to make a jumbo wood bead tassel hanger! The beads are 38mm, from Hobby Lobby, and at only $2.99 for four, they are very affordable! Let me show you how I make them! You might be surprised at how easy they are. Soon, you’ll be making all the wood bead tassels!
Step one: Make your tassel
I made this one out of the chunky yarn from Lion Brand called Thick & Quick. This yarn is amazing for these huge tassels!

Step two: Add your jumbo wood beads
After making your tassel, use any kind of tape to cover the ends of both strands of jute together. This makes it easier to get your twine through the holes in your beads.
Then string the beads one at a time. You can see in the photo below how I have the end of the jute wrapped in tape.
Then just scoot the beads down to your tassel.
Continue adding beads. . .
. . . and scooting them down to the other beads.
Until you have all your beads on the strand that you want. These are so chunky and clunky, that I just wanted the four beads.
Step three: Knot your jute to complete your jumbo wood bead tassel hanger
If your beads have a large hole, you want to make a knot with the jute right above your top bead to hold them in place. But, if you’re using smaller beads, you can usually just tie the two pieces of jute together to create a big enough knot to secure them.
This is what I mean when I say to make a knot with the jute.
Step four: Make your hanger
Last thing to do is to make another knot in your jute at the ends to create a hole big enough for you to hang your beaded tassel.
Then you can hang them on door knobs, cabinet knobs, or the edges of frames like you see above.
This may look like a regular size wood bead tassel, so I’m showing a picture of them beside me so you can see how big they truly are. They are huge!
