Need a savory finger food option for your next get together? Let me show you how to make sausage balls that I’m sure will be a hit!

bisquick, shredded sharp cheddar, mushrooms, green onions, cream cheese, and sausage

Instructions :

This is an easy recipe because you literally just add all the ingredients together and mix! The first thing I’m adding is two cups of Bisquick

Then add four cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. I’m adding all the ingredients to the stainless bowl that came with my KitchenAid stand mixer.

Next, add one pound of breakfast sausage. Just toss it in. If you’re able to use a stand mixer, the dough hook will be able to handle it.

Now most sausage ball recipes stop here, but I like to add a couple of extra ingredients. The first one is scallions or green onions. I used about four of them and sliced them up.

The second one is mushrooms. I slice them first, then I chop them smaller.

And then toss them both in!

Something that I’m adding this year for the first time, after a suggestion from a follower on Facebook, is cream cheese. Add 4 oz of cream cheese.

Last thing I add are seasonings; 1-2 tsp each of garlic and onion powder, 1-2 tsp of salt and cracked black pepper.

Honestly I never measure these seasonings, so just add to your liking.

After all the ingredients are added, lower your dough hook attachment on your mixer. Watch as the dough hook slays those ingredients. I used to mix this with my hands and they were usually sore afterwards. Never again.

After all the ingredients are incorporated, roll them into 1-2 inch size balls. I like to use a cookie scoop and just place them on the pan straight from that.

Depending on the size of the balls, this recipe should yield between 40-50 sausage balls.

Place them in a 350 degree preheated oven for 30-40 minutes.

I didn’t actually get a picture of them right out of the oven. This is a picture of them after they had completely cooled. You can eat them warm or cold. They are good dipped in sour cream, ranch dressing, mustard, etc.
