Are you looking for a unique Christmas tree idea? Maybe you’ve seen those paper doily packs at the Dollar Tree? Did you know doilies make great trees?? Well, let me show you how to make a paper doily Christmas tree!

Supplies needed for this project :

  • Paper doily pack from the Dollar Tree
  • Frame or other background
  • Hot glue
  • Optional embellishments

How to Make a Paper Doily Christmas Tree

First, figure out what your background will be. For this particular one, I used a very pretty white frame and a black background. I wanted a neutral theme for this tree because my living room colors this year are neutral; black, white, and tan (burlap).

The paper doily packs at the Dollar Tree include 32 doilies, in four different sizes, and they are very compressed together, so be careful when separating the layers. So, if you do the math, you can make EIGHT of these Christmas trees from just ONE of the Dollar Tree packs!

Start by folding the doilies in half, twice.

Use a small dab of hot glue to secure the folded doilies.

Do this to each of the four different size doilies.

Next, you’re going to start at the bottom and layer the doilies, moving your way up, putting the next smaller one on top.

It’s pretty already!

Add that last folded doily, and you’re done!

You can add embellishments if you want, but I like this one simple. Less is more, right? I did make a different one with a little more bling added. Check it out!

You ideas are great. Love replicating them with my daughter and grands. I especially like the projects you show going thru the seasons/holidays of the year. Like your shows evening time schedule as it suits my Pennsylvania time which is later than yours.

I love these! I bought doilies and am looking for a frame. Did you put the tree on the glass of the frame? or just on the covered cardboard backing? Thanks!
