My husband and I love to go thrifting and we found some grapevine decor balls during one of our recent thrifty trips! I took one look at them and I knew that I wanted to make snowmen with them, so I grabbed six! Two large, two medium, two small. What’s that make? Two snowmen! Lol

This is what you will need for this project

The first thing that we did was push the wooden skewer into the cork. We then painted the cork to match the grapevine ball to help camouflage it. The cork will help secure the snowman to the wooden base. Glue the cork onto the large wooden round.

Place your large grapevine ball over the skewer and cork. Use some hot glue to secure the ball as best as you can to the wooden base.

Place the medium size grapevine ball onto the large ball over the skewer. Secure with glue on the places that meet.

Next, add the smallest ball and secure with hot glue.

After you have secured all three grapevine balls onto the base, you can add embellishments! First up, we’ll add a scarf! Grab some festive, medium sized ribbon and wrap it around the area where the small and medium ball meet, or the neck. 😉

Now, you can leave the scarf the way it is, but I like to dove tail the ends and I added a snowflake button to the center.

We have a hardy heater for our farmhouse here in Middle TN, so we always have extra wood available. My husband cut wooden rounds last year for various projects, and I have been putting them to good use this year so far! For this project, they are going to help make my snowman hat! Using a small thin wooden round and an even smaller, but taller, wooden round, I made a hat! I started by painting both pieces black.

After both pieces were painted and dry, I glued the thinner piece to the top of the smallest grapevine ball. Then I added the smaller, taller piece with hot glue. Next, I added a strip of festive ribbon around the bottom of the hat. Last, I used white paint and distressed the hat a bit. And there you have a farmhouse snowman! These are going to go on our new fireplace mantles! I can’t wait to decorate them!!
