Hey y’all! As y’all know, I’m a fall freak! I believe August is the start of all things fall and that’s just the way it should be. Don’t you? Haha! I have been finding creative ways to make pumpkins. I have crocheted pumpkins, used dinner napkins (the yellow one pictured, and I’ve put vinyl pumpkins on handmade pillows! Well, this weekend I decided to make some flannel shirt pumpkins, and they turned out so super cute! We went to Goodwill this weekend, of course, and I found a couple flannel shirts on sale.

I cut the backs out of each shirt to use for my pumpkins.

I took a darning needle and threaded it with #10 thread for extra durability. I did one long running stitch loosely all the way around the cut piece of the shirt.

After I stitched around, I started to cinch the threads to pull it all together. Once it was together, I opened it back up a bit and started to stuff it.

Once it was stuffed full, I cinched it completely closed and tied it off very tight. Once that was secure, I started looping my thread around the sides of the pumpkin and pierced the bottom of the pumpkin to bring the thread back up through the top and back around again. I did this six times all the way around the pumpkin. I started off doing three equal sections and then looped down the center of each of those three sections to make sure everything was pretty even, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. Imperfectly perfect, remember. That’s going to be our motto, I think!

After I looped all six sections, I tied it off again very tight and cut the thread. I added a set of leaves from my leftover leaf stash and a stem from my yard with some hot glue. Can y’all tell we ALL use this table? Lol

Here is one that I made with the other shirt shown in the picture above. I added a bit of lace that pumpkin as well, that I also got at the thrift store as well! Hey!

It doesn’t get much easier than that, now does it? I hope you will make some flannel shirt pumpkins for yourself! Thank you for checking us out!
