Out with the old and in with the new! At least, thatโs what they say! It fits this scenario, although, because itโs time for our fireplace makeover!
The BEFORE
I love decorating our mantels for each season/holiday of the year. We have a mantel in our dining room that I change out decor for each holiday. Our farmhouse mantel, which is located in our living room, gets changed up about quarterly. This is what it looked like before. Clearly, it has gathered some, er.. “dust”. ๐

First Up! That focal point.
I replaced our tobacco basket with this piece that we were gifted by our realtor and good friend when we moved into our farmhouse. This pallet wood sign is obviously very special to us, so it needed to be front and center. Don’t worry, we still have our basket, on another wall now. I felt like there needed to be something above the sign and I’m not really a swag type of gal, so greenery it was! Eucalyptus and wooden swirls for the win!

What I added below our sign had no rhyme or reason. Lanterns, baskets, and candles! Oh, my! ๐ The lanterns came from QVC, the basket from Hobby Lobby, the bottle and the Blessed shelf sitter is from Dollar General.

The sides of our sign got flanked with these arched window pieces, which my mama (the queen of thrifting) found at a garage sale. More greenery was added to the bottom of them. Lamb’s ear is my favorite greenery and it just screams farmhouse!

I hope you are liking our fireplace makeover so far!

Time to spruce up the hearth!
… or lack thereof! Ha! We don’t actually have a raised hearth, but I do still enjoy decorating in front of our fireplace, especially when it is not in use frequently. I found that metal basket during one of our weekend antique picking trips. Just add some chunky candle holders, a milk can, a firewood basket, and some blankets and you’ve got a cozy hearth! It’s ready for you to grab a blanket and cuddle up on the sofa!

Check out what that milk can looked like before. Click the picture below to see how we transformed it!

Y’all know I had to throw a truck in the mix! ๐ We got that at Hobby Lobby 40% off!

Something fun that I like to do is add grapevine balls to the tops of candlesticks instead of candles. Aren’t those great?! Maybe you do the same, or maybe you will give it a try!
