Are you looking for candy ornaments to add to a Peppermint Christmas Tree or maybe you want to add them to a Hot Cocoa Bar?? Let me show you this Faux Fabric Candy Diy and you will want to make lots of them! Make sure to check out other Christmas Diys while you’re here!

Supplies needed for this project :

  • Red striped or plaid fabric
  • Empty ribbon spools
  • Styrofoam discs
  • cardboard tubes
  • Jute twine
  • Hot glue
  • Drop cloth
  • Brown cardstock
  • Lettering pens
  • Stamps

1. Cut the fabric

What you will be using; the spools, discs, or tubes, will determine what size your fabric will need to be. Place the item onto your fabric so you have an idea where you need to cut it. I just eyeballed my fabric and did not measure, so I’m sorry. Basically, just fold the fabric over the item and make sure it will completely wrap it and that you will have plenty of overhang for your candy wrapper ends.

2. Glue the Fabric onto the Disc, Tube, or Spool

Start by laying the item in the center of your fabric.

Now, start gluing the fabric onto the item, one side at a time.

Finish wrapping the item and glue the fabric closed. For the tube, just roll it over the fabric and glue the edge to enclose it.

For the disc and the spool, fold over the other side and glue it shut.

3. Tie the Wrapper Ends

Use the jute twine to tie the long open ends closed to look like candy wrapper ends.

4. Add a Drop Cloth Label

The last thing I added was a small rectangle of drop cloth, fraying the edges. Then I added a piece of brown cardstock with words hand lettered on them. You could use stamps to add words if that is easier. And that is it! Super easy diy!
