If you love creating with sheet music and you’re looking for a fall garland idea, let me show you how to make this Fall Leaves Sheet Music Garland that is perfect for an Autumn fireplace mantel! Make sure to check out our other Fall Diys while you’re here!
Supplies needed for this project :
- Artificial fall leaves
- Sheet music from hymnals
- Cardboard pennants (mine came from Hobby Lobby)
- Mod podge
- Gold paint
- Miniature pearl strands
- Cream satin ribbon
- Miniature pine cones
- Diamond dust
- Hot glue

1. Decoupage the Pennants
I chose six songs that I wanted on my mantel, one being I Surrender All, a song I really love. Once I chose my sheet music, I started to add them to the pennants. Mod podge was what I used to adhere them. Coat the pennant in Mod Podge with a paint brush.

Then lay the sheet music on top and smooth it out.

Cut around the edges of the pennant to remove the extra paper, then sand anything that you were not able to get with the scissors.

2. Diamond Dust the Leaves
While the pennants are drying, add some diamond dust to your leaves. The leaves that I used were from a fall leaves pick that found at the Dollar General. I love the colors of these leaves, so I used two of each color for six pennants.

I added mod podge with a brush, then sprinkled on diamond dust while it was still wet. Then I hung them to dry.

3. Add Gold Accents to the Pennants
Now while the leaves are drying, I moved back to the pennants. Using some gold paint, I dry brushed over the pennants to add some accent to them.

4. Glue the Leaves to the Pennants
After your leaves are dry, glue them onto the pennants.

5. String the Pennants on the Pearl Strand
Now, you want to string the pennants onto a strand or string. I decided on a strand of miniature pearls. You can find the link for this in the supply list above. This seems shabby chic to me, so jute just wasn’t going to be good enough for this one. Lol

6. Add Ribbon and Pine Cones
The last thing I added was cream satin ribbon bows and pine cones in between each pennant.
