If you’re a Rae Dunn fanatic, you’re gonna love this Easter egg basket decor idea!
Here’s What You Need for Your Easter Egg Basket:
- Any basket that can be painted
- Spray paint
- Black acrylic paint
- White Easter eggs or any plastic eggs that you could paint – I got mine from Hobby Lobby, but they also sell them at Walmart
- Black vinyl
- Silhouette Cameo cutting machine
- Recycled pillow stuffing, plastic grocery bags, or any kind of stuffing that you have
- Artificial grass or moss
- Optional embellishments; plush Easter bunny, carrots, etc.
- Glue gun
First thing I did was spray paint my basket. I used an oblong basket that we have in our collection of baskets. Since I am using the eggs to spell out an Easter greeting, I wanted a horizontal type basket. I used white spray paint directly onto the basket. Afterwards, I used black acrylic paint to give it that rustic farmhouse feel. My basket is now ready to stuff! Literally! 😉

Next, add some type of stuffing to the bottom of your basket to elevate what you will add to it. I used leftover stuffing from an old pillow. After that, I added some excelsior that I had picked up at Dollar Tree, but they also have it on Amazon. You could also add shredded paper or artificial grass.

Now Onto the Easter eggs and other decor!
For this part, you either need alphabet stickers, a sharpie marker, or what I used; vinyl and a cutting machine. First thing I did was measure my eggs for the vinyl letters. My letters needed to be 1.5″ x 1″. The font that I used was Cami Rae, which you can find online here.

I then added the letters to my eggs.

Now, let’s decorate the Easter egg basket!
The carrots, I found at Walmart the year before and the bunny, I found on one of our Goodwill trips! I added the Easter eggs, positioning them to spell out the Happy Easter greeting and used a little hot glue to help them stay in place. Boom! Rae Dunn inspired Easter egg basket decor! This is currently sitting atop my downstairs bathroom toilet tank! Let us know what you think in the comments below and be sure to sign up for our free crafting and DIY newsletter before you leave!
