Bread Pudding Recipe Made from Stale Donuts

You’re here because you either don’t want to toss those donuts, but they just aren’t as fresh as you like them anymore, OR you want to see how crazy this person is trying to revive old stale donuts. I’m here to tell you that I am in fact crazy; crazy fun, crazy silly.. but that has nothing to do with the fact that this recipe tastes amazing! I realize the idea of actually having donuts leftover is silly. Who leaves donuts to go stale?! Not me! But my parents did recently, so my mama brought them out to our house, not realizing how stale they were. I did mention I was crazy, but I’m not crazy enough to toss donuts, stale or not! That is how this recipe was born! Keep reading to see how I made this Bread Pudding Recipe made from Stale Donuts!


Ingredients :

  • 4 stale glazed donuts
  • 4 eggs
  • 1.5 cups of milk
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • butter for greasing your dish
  • extra sugar and cinnamon for the topping

First step : Deconstruct the donuts!

Tear the donuts into small pieces and place them into a small square or rectangular casserole dish that has been greased with butter. Make sure your oven is pre heating to 350 degrees as well.

Step two : Mix the liquid

Next you will mix the eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.

Step three : Drown the Donuts!

Then pour it over top of the donuts, making sure to evenly distribute it. Make sure to press down on the donuts to fully submerge them in the liquid.

Step four : Do the Sprinkle

Last thing before placing it into the oven is to add a sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon on top.

Step five : Bake it!

Pop it into your oven for 30 minutes until the top looks like this. Let it cool for about 5 minutes, but not more than that, because you want to eat it warm.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Butter the sides of a small square or rectangular casserole dish. Tear the donuts into small pieces and place them into the casserole dish. Mix the eggs, milk, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl, then pour it over the donut pieces in the casserole dish. Press down on the donut pieces to make sure all pieces are submerged in the liquid. Sprinkle the top with more sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool about 5 minutes and serve warm. Would be perfect with some vanilla ice cream on top! Makes 4 servings.
