Has anyone else been crushing on these wall hangings like I have? I am a Pinterest junkie, and the first time I saw one, I immediately set out to make my own boho chic wall hanging! This is a great way to tell your story, because you can add little details to personalize it. The coolest part.. I made every bit of it with craft supplies from the Dollar Tree!
Supplies needed for this DIY
- Wooden arrow
- Twine
- Yarn
- Ribbon
- Flowers
- Paint and brushes
- Hot glue gun and glue – << I’ve linked the one I use
- Grapevine balls
- Wooden shapes
- Letter stencils
- Chalk board tags
- Any other personalization elements that you choose
First, paint your wooden arrow
Next, I glued on a double strand of twine to each end of the arrow, on the backside.
I then started adding pieces of twine, yarn, and ribbon to my double strand of twine line.
I just kept adding more of each piece until my line was completely full.
Time to add detail to your boho chic wall hanging
I added flowers, grapevine balls, a wooden dolphin, and a chalkboard tag that says Faith.
I embellished the chalk board tag myself, using paint for the word Faith, twine for the border, and more flowers. It had a string on it already, so I just tied it onto a piece of the twine that was hanging. I attached everything at different heights to be able to see everything. See below how I attached the floral pieces using the ribbon.
By the way, I did not measure my pieces. I just eye balled the length.
Last thing to do is finish your arrow
I wrapped twine around both ends. Afterwards, I used a letter stencil to add the word Believer to further personalize it. Last, I added detail to either end of the arrow with my dark paint. I also added a little flower detail to the arrow, on the bottom right.
