Do you struggle making bows? If so, let me show you a simple way to make a bow! It’s called the awareness ribbon method and it is so super easy! With a little practice, you will be making adorable bows like the one above everyday!
Step One - Cut a 12-15 inch Section of Ribbon
This step is the hardest of them all, deciding on a cute ribbon for your project. Haha! This pink ribbon was found on Amazon.
Step Two : Place Your Ribbon into an Awareness Shape
Y’all know what an awareness ribbon looks like, right? That is how you start this bow.
Step Three : Fold Your Ribbon into Position
Then you fold down the top loop of your ribbon towards the back and up against the criss-cross of the ribbon tails. See the front and back photos below.
This is what it should look like from behind.
Step Four : Pin Your Ribbon
I like to use a sewing pin to hold the ribbon together until I can tie it.
Last Step : Tie Your Bow
Finally, use string, jute, or ribbon to tie your center. Remove your pin after your bow is created. Tada! You have a bow! You can dovetail your ends or cut them to make them even. Make sure to seal your ends with either glue or a lighter. You’re ready to embellish with it!
